How much more effective would it be to use ankle weights when jogging?
I went on a jog tonight and i walked some too.. i was gone for about 25-30 minutes. But i used ankle weights and felt aLOT of burn. haha do you know how many more calories i burned with the weights on?
***The ankle weights weighed about 1 pound each.
You may have burned 10 to 15 more calories, though if you keep using the weights you will quickly get use to them and they will not be as effective. A better suggestion would be to increase the distance, even if by an 1/8 of a mile each time you run.
The weights will cause you to develop a bit more muscle in your legs, which will be beneficial for increased endurance and overall health. You might try using them once or twice a month.
