I have hypothyroidism, I take 250mg thyroxin a day and have been for 5 years.?
I am 43 yrs old. Generally keep well. recently I have had this pulsing feeling in my neck and also if there's something stuck in my throat, I don't feel pain, but sometimes find it hard swallowing saliva. i'm ok with food and liquids. Recent blood test showed i'm on the right dose of thyroxin.. is there a connection with symptoms and thyroid?
Yes. You need to have an ultrasound/echo done of your thyroid to check for irregular nodules. Irregular nodules on your thyroids, or abnormally shaped thyroids are common with hypothyroidism. If it is affecting your swallowing you need to consult a Dr. ASAP. They usually aren't cancerous or malignant, but you'll need them checked. I've had many ultrasounds/echos, and a biopsy as well.
