What is the Pac Man Mat on the Gymnastics Gym for?
I go to a Gymnastics Gym to train for parkour but the time I go it's mostly empty with just some maintenace guys who don't do much. I've seen a mat shaped like a Pac Man and I've been wondering what it's for. Does anyone know?
The pac man mat (that's actually what some coaches call it, haha) is used for backhandspring training. The gymnast sits in the open part (the pac man's mouth) and then leans back and reaches for the floor so that they get a nice arch position over the mat as it rolls.
