why does the temperature meter say "OC" when i turn the car on?
when i turn my car on it says OC where the thermometer is when it should say the temperature outside but when i get going it says -40. does that mean it's broken or is there something seriously wrong with my car. i know my service engine soon light has been on but i think that's because i need my thermostat installed in my car but don't have the money to do so. is that why my thermometer says that? or is it because my front bumper came loose on friday when the push screws fell off to hold the black part on to my bumper and the inside of the car was exposed?
i have a thermostat it just needs to be replaced but i have no money right now.
OC means "open circuit"
There is a problem with the electrical circuit for the outside temp sensor. This sensor is usually located in the bumper or grille.
This is not a serious problem, that just tells you what the outside temperature is. And by the way, it has nothing to do with your engine temp or engine thermostat, there is a seperate gauge/light for that
