do certain cleats make you better?

i play football and i'm widereceiver and i've noticed a huge change in the cleats that i have and my old cleats. now i'm not saying that better cleats will make you catch better or the best player on the field but they do take a toll on the player. i'm sick of hearing people say cleats don't make you better. well if that's the case then why don't everyone get lineman cleats!!! im already a great player and the nike vapor jet td, in my opinion are the best cleats i've ever gotten. they're REALLY LIGHTWEIGHT, i can make my cuts much better and it takes a lot of weight off of my feet. because the sorry underarmour cleats that i had were much heavier i couldn't run routes as well and they were just horrible. UNDERARMOUR CLEATS SUCK!! the new ones are really a blessing. now i understand the cleats don't make you outstanding but it does matter which ones you wear to make sure you can play your best game

You've answered your own question. The cleats don't make the player, just as the clothes don't make the man. Some are more comfortable than others, but being around the sport all my life (local level), and being a life-long runner, I see similarities in product preference vs performance, but if I don't run well, it's never due to my sneaks.
