Would you buy this dog exercise gadget?
Hi, I'm doing a project for a business class and we need some opinions from some real people. Our product is called the iCollar. It's a dog collar with a microchip inside it that keeps track of the dog's workout while its owner exercises with it. The chip is removable and can be plugged into an iPod or a computer to track your pet's statistics (distance, steps, calories, BMI, etc). So what do you think? Would you buy it? How much would you pay for it? What features would you like to see in this product? We're very interested to hear your point of view.
I personally wouldn't waste my money on it - most of the time you can tell if your dog is overweight simply by looking at it and would consult a vet for a proper exercise regime. And most people who walk their dogs don't care how many steps they take, how many calories are burnt, etc.
It might be worth it for a person who owns a very active dog or is going into long distance (highly active) sports with their dog... just so they know how long they go, how far, etc. Maybe someone with an overweight dog would use it to calculate how many calories need to be burnt per day...
But a general dog owner wouldn't have much of a use for it.
