What is the difference between a chest stand & upright bucky (grid wise focal spot etc)?

Not much really! usually a chest stand insinuates that your going to be shooting at 72" so the gird is a focused grid set at 72". as fare as your focal spot, you would use a large focal spot on chest. With an upright bucky, its like a chest bucky but not dedicated, so there usually isn't a focused grid in there, and you can shoot up-right wb knees, feet, ankles, shoulders, claviclas, sternums, chest, c-spine, head work, ect. if you are using a new DR room, you need to switch out the grids from 40" grids to 72" girds depending on what you are shooting. Oh and as a side note, the new DR GE rooms, the upright buckys can rotate 90degrees so that you can make them a flat table that goes up and down for hand/wrist and axilary shoulder work! its BA!!!!
