Tennis Duffel

3 Racket Tennis Bag or Duffel Bag?

Is a 3 racket tennis bag necessary or is it fine to just have a duffel bag to play tennis?

I also believe it's your game that matters; however, as a function of utility, a Racquet Bag is SO much better than a duffel bag.

1) There is obvious separation of your racquet and your other tennis gear (like towels, head bands, water, shoes, grips, tape, etc.)

2) You can separate your wet and sweaty clothes from your non-sweaty clothes (and the two won't mix). Several bags are waterproof these days, as well.

3) There are places for smaller items like sunscreen, keys, cellphones, chap stick, etc.

4) Plus some people like the "look" of having a tennis bag.

I used to use a large beach tote to carry all of my gear, and I got a racquet bag for Christmas one year. (I never wanted a bag because it was easy advertising for the brands...but that's a different topic) I switched over to the bag, and it made everything a lot easier, organizationally speaking...I still had to prove myself on the court!

But, imo, a 6 racquet bag is much better than a 3.
